Who we are
Battyandgorgeous is a creative arts company based in Manchester, set up by Christine Evans and Diane Pagan. We work creatively and therapeutically in community, healthcare, educational, business and small group settings.
We offer tailor-made projects in order to build self-awareness, understand our self-limiting beliefs, and expand creativity. In essence, we facilitate the freedome to play and discover the inner artist in all of us. We both enjoy encouraging artistic expression in others and firmly believe that the therapeutic benefits of art and creativity have a positive impact on our mental, physical and emotional wellbeing.
Our workshops are welcoming, experimental, fun, engaging, sociable and non judgmental.

What we'd like to do at the EAIP Conference
The theme for the conference is Integrative Psychotherapy in a Disintegrating World, and we'd like to work with that in mind, offering art workshops exploring the question "what holds me together".
We'd offer a two hour workshop on November 6th and 7th where delegates can come and get creative and make a piece of artwork around this theme and possibly expanding the question to ... What supports me in troubled times, what are my resources, what makes me feel good?
Each person would be free to interpret the theme in their own way and respond accordingly.
We'd work on small scale pieces enjoying a whole host of materials and techniques allowing participants to collage, print draw, stick and sew; whatever took their fancy.
These individual collaged artworks will then be instantly framed into CD cases and jig -sawed together to make a collective response and exciting visual statement. They will be mounted on the wall of the workshop or somewhere else in the venue. Throughout the conference this "exhibition" will grow, being added to by individual contributions along the way. Each would add their response and join together as a united whole.
The beauty of this approach is that it is very accessible and allow people to work at their own pace. The instant framing offers a direct and immediate way of giving people's work a status. And by making a collective piece of work each person is seen asw an individual as well as part of a collective whole.
